Awards & Kudos
Cathy
Smith is receiving the Voluntary Action Center
of Mid Fairfield Award this April in recognition of her service to Norwalk
Reads. Cathy is piloting a new program modeling “shared effective reading” for
preschoolers and their teachers at Norwalk School Readiness Programs across the
city. She has also developed a relationship with the Weston Parent Teachers
Organizations which has resulted in the donation of hundreds of new and gently
used children’s books for distribution in Norwalk.
The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism 2005
Distinguished Advocates for Culture and Tourism Awards were presented to
Jewel Broeze and Edythe Ritchie volunteers at the Darien Welcome
Center honoring their many years as tourism guides. The award is given for
making a significant impact on improving tourism in the State.
Gary Lishnoff
was featured by Christian Community Action as volunteer of the month for his
work at the food pantry.
